Netlink Support
Netlink is a local macOS network environment inspection tool for viewing your local network, public exit, proxy/VPN signals, DNS, IPv6, connectivity, system environment, and hardware overview. This page provides support contact, FAQ, troubleshooting, and privacy notes.
Support email: support@netlink.jeman.net — we recommend using the in-app "Send Feedback" entry (Help menu / menu bar panel / Settings > About), which automatically attaches diagnostic info (version, OS version, interface language, last-inspection summary, error codes, etc. — never an IP) and lets you optionally attach a screenshot of the current window; you can also email us directly and include your macOS version, app version, screenshots, and steps to reproduce yourself.
Privacy: see the Netlink Privacy Policy. Netlink collects no user information, has no account system, shows no ads, and does no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
1. App basics
- App name: Netlink (Chinese: 网连)
- Platform: macOS
- Category: Utilities
- Bundle ID:
com.netlink.app - Languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese
2. Main features
- Diagnostics: eight sequential stages — local → DNS chain → public → reputation → destinations → system → hardware → scoring, about 2 minutes, the first six stages can be stopped at any point, with an exit path map and network score on the home page.
- Public IP: public IP, region, ISP, organization, time zone, and exit consistency.
- IP Reputation: VPN / data-center and Tor exit flags matched against lists built into the app, with nothing sent out; a miss does not prove an IP is clean.
- Local Network: LAN IP, DNS, IPv6 status, and interface type.
- System: system, time zone, language, hardware, and display info.
- Reachability: checks whether common sites respond, and how fast.
- History: exit timeline, score trend, and the network event timeline.
- Tools: everyday network tools in one place — DNS records, TCP ping, port check, HTTP headers and redirect chain, ASN and registration info, global DNS / HTTP, proxy PAC test, certificate check, outage check, IPv6 dual stack and an exit and config self-check — plus a hosts file viewer and five utilities (CIDR, QR code, URL / Punycode, timestamp, MAC address). A tool runs only when you tap its button; the hosts viewer and the utilities run only on your Mac and are free and unlimited.
- Pro diagnostics: AI Service Check, Multi-location Probing, Bandwidth Speed Test, Domain Deep Diagnosis, connection timing breakdown and direct-vs-system-proxy comparison.
- Free and Pro: the diagnostics and network tools above that have daily runs show their conclusion free once a day (for example DNS records show how many record types answered, TCP ping the average latency and loss, the port check how many ports are open, HTTP the final status and redirect count, ASN the origin AS, global probing whether locations agree, the PAC test how many URLs use the proxy, IPv6 dual stack its verdict), and Pro shows the full details with no limit; the outage check's verdict is free with the layered evidence in Pro; a run that gets no result, such as a failure, is not counted and shows everything; the exit and config self-check and the certificate check show the full result once a day; comparing two inspections is free 3 times in total; report export keeps the watermarked PDF free, while Markdown / JSON / CSV and the share card need Pro; path trace, speed test history, scheduled certificate monitoring, rule alerts, longer history and iCloud sync are Pro-only. For free users the Markdown / JSON / CSV and share-card menu items carry a PRO suffix and open the comparison page instead of the save panel. In the sidebar, the four Pro diagnostic pages show a "1/day" badge while free runs remain and PRO once used up, Tools carries a NEW tag, and purchased features show no PRO badge. In Settings, hovering or clicking a locked floating-widget style previews it; a selected Pro style that is not unlocked is shown as the default capsule.
3. FAQ
Why do some checks fail?
Public, risk, and connectivity checks rely on external services. Weak networks, DNS issues, unstable routing, or regionally unreachable targets can cause failures. A failure does not necessarily mean your local network is broken.
Why are some services unreachable in certain regions?
Some lookup services and connectivity targets may be affected by regional policy, routing, carrier behavior, or the services' own restrictions. Netlink shows the failure reason where possible, but cannot guarantee every third-party service is reachable everywhere.
Why do I see "last successful result"?
When the current public lookup fails but an older result exists on your Mac, Netlink may show the last successful result, clearly labeled. It is for reference only and does not mean the current inspection succeeded.
Does Netlink upload my hardware info or history?
No. The hardware overview, system environment, history, and settings stay on your Mac. Netlink operates no developer servers that receive, store, or analyze user data.
Why is the IP geolocation inaccurate?
IP geolocation comes from third-party databases and can be off due to carrier exits, proxies, VPNs, corporate networks, CDNs, or database lag. Netlink shows what the lookup services return; it is not your precise physical location.
Does Netlink require sign-in or a subscription?
No account, no sign-in, no subscription. Netlink Pro is a one-time purchase: the diagnostics and network tools that have daily runs are free once a day and show their conclusion, and Pro shows the full result with no limit (see Main features). Restore Purchases is available in the purchase prompt on any Pro page and on the Netlink Pro comparison page opened from the sidebar's bottom card.
I moved to a new Mac — how do I get Pro back?
Sign in to the App Store on the new Mac with the same Apple ID, then tap Restore Purchases in the purchase prompt on any Pro page, or on the Netlink Pro comparison page opened from the sidebar's bottom card.
4. Troubleshooting
- Confirm your Mac is online and common websites open in a browser.
- Turn off or switch your VPN/proxy/accelerator, then inspect again and compare.
- Switch to another Wi-Fi network or hotspot to rule out a single-line issue.
- Check the system time, time zone, and DNS settings.
- Quit and reopen Netlink, then run the inspection again.
If the problem persists, we recommend using the in-app "Send Feedback" entry (Help menu / menu bar panel / Settings > About), which automatically attaches diagnostic info and lets you optionally attach a screenshot of the current window; you can also email screenshots, your macOS version, app version, current network environment, and reproduction steps to support@netlink.jeman.net yourself. Please never include passwords, verification codes, ID numbers, payment details, or other sensitive personal information.
5. Privacy and data
Netlink is a local tool: it collects no user information, has no account system, shows no ads, and does no tracking. Inspection results and history stay on your Mac.
Some features require your device to contact third-party services directly to determine the public exit, IP geolocation, proxy/VPN flags, risk, and connectivity. Those services receive your public IP address and ordinary request metadata as part of the lookup. See the full privacy policy.
6. Third-party services
Netlink's inspection features contact several third-party network services directly. See Section 5, "Third-party network services," of the Privacy Policy for what each category is used for.
7. What to include when contacting support
- Your macOS version (e.g. macOS 14, macOS 15, or later).
- Netlink app version.
- The page where the issue occurs (Smart Inspection, Local Network, Public IP, IP Reputation, Connectivity, …).
- Your network environment at the time (home Wi-Fi, office network, hotspot, VPN, or proxy).
- Error screenshots and reproduction steps.
This information is used only to diagnose and answer your request. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive personal information.
8. Response time
We aim to reply within 3–5 business days. Because results depend on region, carrier, routing, and third-party service status, some issues may need extra context to diagnose.
9. Disclaimer
Netlink's inspection results, scores, geolocation, and connectivity outcomes are for reference only and constitute no security guarantee, legal advice, or availability promise. Use them together with your actual network context and professional judgment.
